Tasked with eroding advancing combatants, or finishing off opponents engaged with Allegiant melee Troops, Crossbowman take pride in their ‘implied assistance’. Able to occasionally fire two crossbow bolts, in the time most ranged Troops can only fire one, these stoic marksmen quietly delight when demonstrating their exceptional training.

If there is a true agent of chaos on the Battlefield, it is the Boggish Hydra. Surprisingly fast, despite its absence of legs, the Hydra thrives when surrounded. Possessing five individual heads, this beast can engage multiple Enemies when attacking and defending. Adding to this overwhelming Assault, is the Hydra's natural ability to Poison its targets, lowering their total Health for a few rounds. Few top-tier Troops can occupy and decimate an army's lower rank like this slithering savage.

Like most Troops in the Chimeran roster, the Manticore is a versatile warrior. Able to fly, this fearsome fighter can occasionally shoot stingers from its scorpion’s tail. With both its melee and ranged Assaults, the Manticore can also inflict a Paralyzing Venom, and through this terrible toxin, repeatedly still Enemy Divisions. Keeping the Enemy out of the fight, for prolonged periods of time, is a Manticore’s forte, making them an especially valuable Troop in every battle.

Without restriction, these fallen Angels can teleport about the Battlefield, and reappear in an explosion of fire and brimstone. Following this preliminary Assault, Devils can execute a primary Assault, utilizing a pair of one-handed scythes. If their arrival wasn’t enough to rouse fear in their enemies, Devils can also ‘damn’ their targets to a death beyond the reach of Resurrection.

Amongst Ogres, the Ogre Mage is revered. Amongst all other wizards, the Ogre Mage is disregarded. With knowledge and limited castings of only one spell, the Ogre Mage has the ability to Enrage a separate Allied Division. At first, this may not seem significant, but the effect is cumulative and persistent for the remainder of Battlefield Combat. Furthermore, under specific Battlefield conditions, this effect can be applied to an entire Army, making the Ogre Mage a surprisingly effective, albeit limited, caster.

Wielding a long, heavy rapier, doused with toxins derived from their wart-covered skin, the Toadish Intruder specializes not in killing, but in applying poisonous debilitation. If they are unable to pierce their targets and administer their contaminants, their own thick hide has a chance to apply a pollutant to any Troop brave enough to Assault them. As expected, this Troop is immune to the very contagions it produces.

Cultists have chosen to compromise their humanity for short-term arcane empowerment. This self-destructive path of darkness and corruption gives them exceptional arcane skills, and the ability to assault Enemy Troop Divisions from a distance. Utilizing an 'arcane heart', pulled from their own bodies, the assault from Cultists may cause Enemy Troops to explosively 'combust' and injure other nearby Enemy Troops. Additionally, upon death, Cultists themselves will occasionally 'combust', creating an explosive effect harming nearby Enemy Troop Divisions. This unique trait not only makes Cultists risky to assault in hand-to-hand melee combat, but it also makes them a tempting target to sacrifice for tactical advantage.

Able to diminish Enemy Troop Health with a cutting assault, the Reaper can also empower itself by 'reaping' the spirits of Enemy Troops upon their death. Its presence discourages enemy armies and creates misery among the living. Unironically, upon its own demise, the Reaper does not leave a corpse.

Arguably, the most enigmatic of the Thornwood army are the Willow Wisps. Ghostly and somewhat abstract, these small spirits of the forest appear to be adorable and relatively harmless, yet when compelled to combat, they transform into large, tumultuous, terrifying phantoms. While a Willow Wisp's ghostly form makes it immune to many 'status effects', its uniqueness is derived from its ability to Devour Energy from its enemies. In doing this, Willow Wisps can prevent or delay enemy Rally Assaults, while nurturing their own. This makes them an unusual 'lockdown threat', unlike most on the Battlefield.

This instability can be both a blessing and a curse for either side of the Battlefield. For the Alchemist's ultimate concoction, an extraordinary elixir is ingested, transforming the dwarf into a giant, hulking brute, eager to smash Enemies with his bare fists.

Upon initial inspection, Faith Archers appear to be rather typical, until they tie on their blindfolds and raise their runic long bows. Given special regard amongst the Allegiant, the faith infused arcane arrows of these battlefield specialists, have a chance to execute Demonic or Undead Enemy Troops... from range. It is rare to see low-level Troops strike fear into top-level Troops, but if Faith Archers are present in your Army, every Necrotic or Infernal Enemy Troop is vulnerable.

With an origin shrouded in a mysterious evolution of serpent scales and hen feathers, the Basilisk is the only non-Chimeran Troop able to turn Enemies into stone. Lithe and lethal, it is faster than the snake-like Medusa, but less focused when attempting to turn Enemy Troops into stone. Able to engage multiple targets, in specific occasions, the Basilisk’s smoldering stare is a quantity over quality Assault.
